Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski says he will leave the club at the end of the season after completing his “mission”.
Robert Lewandowski confirmed on Instagram that he will depart FC Barcelona this summer when his contract expires. The 37-year-old forward joined Barcelona from FC Bayern Munich in 2022 and scored 119 goals in 191 appearances. During his four-year stay, he helped the club win three La Liga titles and the 2025 Copa del Rey.
Lewandowski described his time in Spain as a successful chapter, saying he leaves with the feeling that his “mission is complete”.
Injuries limited the Polish striker this season, with only 15 league starts, but he still played an important role in Barcelona’s title-winning campaign. His recent goal against CA Osasuna proved crucial in the run to the championship.
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick praised Lewandowski as a “world-class player” and a role model for younger footballers. The pair previously worked together successfully at Bayern Munich.
Barcelona also paid tribute to the striker, calling him a “legend” for his impact at the club.
Lewandowski is expected to play his final home game for Barcelona against Real Betis at Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday.
