Shehu Sani wins APC senatorial primary in Kaduna Central

Shehu Sani, former senator representing Kaduna Central, has won the senatorial primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Kaduna Central senatorial district.

Sani defeated Yusuf Zailani, former speaker of the Kaduna state house of assembly in the contest.

The results were announced on Monday by Barrister Sameera Ibrahim, the returning officer for the exercise.

According to the declared results, Sani polled 9,105 votes to emerge as the winner of the primary election.

Zailani secured 1,021 votes, while another aspirant got 1,253 votes.

The victory marks a political comeback for Sani, who previously represented Kaduna Central in the Senate and is known for his activism and outspoken views on governance and democracy.

Supporters of the former lawmaker celebrated the outcome shortly after the announcement of the results, expressing optimism about his chances in the general election.
