Solar Power: SDP Candidate Adebayo Promises Nationwide Coverage

Social Democratic Party (SDP) presidential candidate Adewole Adebayo has pledged to install solar power systems on every Nigerian rooftop within 11 months if elected in 2027.

Speaking during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time, Adebayo outlined an energy plan to generate 32,000 megawatts.

Specifically, the decentralized power policy will deploy between 11 and 15 kilowatts of electricity to individual households.

Consequently, this localized approach aims to eliminate national reliance on Nigeria’s unstable central grid.

Therefore, citizens will gain access to uninterrupted clean energy for daily household use.

Local Manufacturing and International Industrial Partnerships

To execute the project, Adebayo plans to build domestic solar power factories rather than relying on imported equipment.

Furthermore, his administration intends to partner with industrial nations like China, Turkey, and India to build local manufacturing clusters.

“I promise that between 11 to 15 kilowatts of solar power will be put on every roof within 11 months,” Adebayo asserted.

In addition, these localized energy clusters will supply primary electricity, leaving the national grid to function as a backup.

Technical Capacity and Job Creation Opportunities

Highlighting his personal experience, Adebayo revealed that he previously conducted successful solar power pilot tests in his hometown.

Specifically, he trained roughly 2,000 local technicians in installation, lithium battery production, and system maintenance.

“I manufacture the solar panels myself and I do lithium batteries,” Adebayo stated, adding that his team currently imports only inverters.

Beyond generation, expanding local solar power manufacturing will create millions of jobs for young Nigerians.

Finally, the candidate urged voters to embrace decentralized solar power solutions to permanently end persistent blackouts.
