President Bola Tinubu ends his working vacation in France and heads to Lagos for political meetings ahead of the 2027 elections.
President Bola Tinubu has ended his working vacation in France and departed Paris for Lagos. He is expected to meet political leaders and associates in the coming days. The meetings will focus on preparations for the 2027 elections.
According to his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu left Paris on Tuesday. His aircraft is expected to land at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos. The President left Abuja on August 30 and spent one week in London before travelling to Paris.
Tinubu chose Lagos as his first stop to honour the late Chief MKO Abiola. Abiola won the June 1993 presidential election and played a major role in Nigeria’s democratic struggle. On October 1, Tinubu is also expected to attend a movie premiere about Abiola at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre in Iganmu.
Meanwhile, Tinubu’s working vacation included several high-profile meetings. He had a private dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron and met business leaders, including Vincent Bolloré. He also met First Holdings Chairman Femi Otedola.
Last week, he witnessed an MoU signing between Ogun State and DP World. The deal covers a proposed $7 billion Gateway deep seaport and Blue Marine Economic Zone.
After his Lagos meetings, Tinubu is expected to return to Abuja.
