Toyin Abraham has finally spoken again about her much-talked-about fallout with Funke Akindele. Months after their awkward moment at a movie premiere went viral, the actress says she has moved on.
During her appearance on the Morayo Afolabi Brown Show, Toyin made it clear that she has no interest in revisiting the issue. Instead, she wants to focus on her future and personal growth.
The actress also revealed how years of public criticism have changed her. According to Toyin, online attacks no longer affect her like they once did. She said,
“There is nothing anyone would say that will get to me anymore.”
She added that whenever she responds to critics, it is not because she is angry.
“If I respond to you, it’s because I am just having fun with you. I want to play with you,” she explained.
When asked directly about Funke Akindele, Toyin simply replied,
“I don’t want to talk about it because I don’t like talking about my past.”
Beyond the controversy, Toyin also addressed another issue that has followed her throughout her career. She appealed to fans to stop comparing her with other actresses. According to her, such comparisons are unnecessary and unfair.
She said she only wants to build her own legacy.
“I don’t like it when they pitch me with anyone. I just want to be me, Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi,” she stated.
Her comments have sparked fresh reactions across social media.
The conversation comes months after a viral video from Iyabo Ojo’s movie premiere. In the clip, many viewers believed Funke Akindele ignored Toyin’s greeting. The moment triggered heated debates online. Shortly after, Toyin revealed she would never greet Funke again and also unfollowed her on social media.
Although fans continue to discuss the incident, Toyin’s latest comments suggest she has chosen to leave the drama behind and focus on her own journey.
