Duane “Keefe D” Davis is reportedly staying calm as his trial over Tupac Shakur’s murder begins in Las Vegas. The 64-year-old pleaded not guilty to the 1996 killing. Prosecutors claim Davis helped plan the attack and supplied the gun. However, they say another person fired the fatal shots.
Davis’ trial started on Monday, August 10, with jury selection. He was arrested in 2023 after years of speaking publicly about Tupac’s death. Davis also discussed the case during police questioning under an immunity agreement. He has remained at the Clark County Detention Center since his arrest.
According to TMZ sources, Davis is not scared of going to prison. He has spent time behind bars before and knows what prison life is like. Still, spending the rest of his life there worries him. One source said, “Prison is a dangerous place and horrible things happen there, especially when you’re older.” His reputation could also make prison more dangerous.
Meanwhile, Davis reportedly believes prosecutors have major weaknesses in their case. He thinks there could still be a way out if he is convicted. His family reportedly feels he caused some of his problems by talking too much. They have called him an “exaggerator” and a “bullsh—er.”
Above all, Davis reportedly wants prosecutors to drop the case and apologise to him.
