Hope Uzodinma, the governor of Imo state, has commended President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, describing him as “the founder of the new Nigeria.”
Uzodinma spoke on Friday when governors of the All Progressives Congress paid an Eid-el-Kabir visit to the president in Lagos.
The Imo governor said Tinubu’s policies had helped pull Nigeria away from economic collapse and placed the country on the path of stability.
“As a president, you are the founder of the new Nigeria,” he said. “We are the frontline beneficiaries of the innovative approach you brought to bear in governance.”
He said the governors visited the president to celebrate with him and thank God for the progress recorded under his administration.
“We came to join you in thanking Almighty God who made this possible,” he said.
Uzodinma commended Tinubu’s handling of the economy, saying the president had rescued the country from a difficult situation.
“You have virtually recovered Nigeria from the road of collapse to that of stability and survival,” he said.
“We, your field officers at the sub-national level, are indeed very, very grateful.”
THE ASSESSMENT
The governor said APC governors had assessed the president’s performance and were satisfied with his stewardship.
“We have assessed your performance and, Mr President, I am happy to announce that we have scored your performance 100 percent,” he said.
Uzodinma also praised Tinubu’s leadership style, describing him as a visionary leader who has consistently supported state governments.
“We thank you for the genius you are, the fatherly role you have played, your interventions in times of our needs, and your vision for the country moving forward,” he said.
The governor said APC governors would continue to defend the administration’s policies and programmes across the country.
“We are proud to be your ambassadors at the sub-national level,” he said.
“We are here to defend your policies, to preach your message, and to let Nigerians know that we have come out from darkness and that the light is now ready to shine.”
“You brought us hope, and we believe in you.”
Uzodinma prayed for good health and strength for the president as he continues to lead the country.
“We pray that this period of Sallah and this holy season bring you good health, courage and determination to continue to steer the ship of state,” he said.
“May Almighty God bless you and continue to encourage you.”
