Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has declared that he will personally join security forces to track down criminals and rescue abducted citizens if elected president.Making the bold assertion during a campaign rally in Bayelsa State.
Obi emphasized that a true leader must demonstrate direct commitment and take personal responsibility for national security.

- Reflecting on Past Governance: Highlighting his record as governor, Obi noted that his administration successfully tackled forest-based criminality in Anambra State through decisive action and close coordination with security authorities.
- Road Infrastructure and Safety: To underline the urgent need to restore safety along national highways, Obi shared that he had traveled by road across several states—including Enugu, Kogi, Nasarawa, Ebonyi, and Bayelsa—during his campaign tour.
