Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has reacted to claims that she is worried about her reported lawsuit with fellow actress Judy Austin. Edochie dismissed the claims and said she is not losing sleep over the legal battle.
Instead, the actress said she is looking forward to the court proceedings. She also hinted that the case could give her a chance to discuss issues she has kept private. However, Edochie said her main focus is currently May Edochie’s birthday.
Edochie explained that she has watched several developments while choosing to remain silent. According to her, she had many things to say but avoided taking some conversations into the public space. Now, she believes the lawsuit has created an opportunity to speak openly.
“This lawsuit dey give Rita Edochie sleepless night. Mee? As how nah? Nwa nne, na better opportunity wey I dey find to dey talk wetin I never talk dem give me so I don grab wella,” she said.
The actress added that she is ready to defend her statements in court. She questioned why she should fear speaking if she believes her claims are true.
“But if what I have been saying is true, then why should I be terrified of saying even more? More dey come,” she stated.
Edochie also promised to reveal more during the legal process. She stressed that she would rely on information she knows and can defend.
“Not with rumours, not with fabricated stories,” she said.
She further declared,
“You proof have basically handed me the microphone I have been waiting for.”
Rita ended with a warning that she intends to speak freely when the time comes.
“I go use am open fowl nyash! I go use am well, I swear,” Edochie added.
She also described the lawsuit as an opportunity to let the facts come before the court.
