Yari Says Tinubu’s Record Will Secure 2027 Victory

Former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, says President Bola Tinubu’s achievements will help secure his re-election in 2027.

Yari, who heads the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC-PCC), expressed confidence in the President’s second-term ambition. He said the party would rely on its campaign efforts and Tinubu’s record in office.

He spoke with journalists in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, during Tinubu’s Umrah pilgrimage.

Yari Says APC Will Campaign On Tinubu’s Achievements

The former governor said the campaign council would engage voters directly. It plans to highlight the administration’s achievements and convince Nigerians to support another term.

Yari also expressed confidence in God’s role in determining the election outcome.

“So, in total, I depend on Allah to do it for him as He did it for him in 2023,” he said.

He added that the party would combine prayers with political mobilisation.

“Allah says we should pray and work, and that all the procedures we are undertaking to campaign, talk to people, convince them and show them what we have done and achieved will, by God’s grace, convince the people to re-elect us,” Yari stated.

Tinubu Expresses Confidence In God’s Will

Yari’s comments followed Tinubu’s remarks during a media interaction in Saudi Arabia on Friday.

The President expressed confidence in God regarding his 2027 re-election bid. He maintained that the election outcome would ultimately depend on Allah.

“I believe that Allah’s wish in His court must prevail. And there’s no other God but Allah,” Tinubu said.

Reacting to the statement, Yari praised the President’s position. He noted that Tinubu had also prayed for Nigeria and its citizens.

Tinubu Travels To Saudi Arabia For Umrah

Tinubu departed Abuja for Makkah, Saudi Arabia, on Thursday. The President travelled to perform Umrah, an Islamic lesser pilgrimage.

His aircraft, an Airbus A330-200, reportedly departed at 2:20 pm. His Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, announced the trip.

Onanuga said the visit would allow the President to pray for Nigeria. The prayers would focus on peace, unity, stability and national progress.

Those accompanying Tinubu include National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Senator Abdulaziz Yari and BUA Group founder, Abdulsamad Rabiu.

Yari’s remarks come as the APC prepares for the 2027 presidential election. The party’s campaign council says it will continue mobilising support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
