The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the first batch of results for candidates who sat the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

In a statement on Friday, Fabian Benjamin, the board’s spokesperson, said JAMB has released the results of 632,788 candidates who sat the exam on Thursday.

He said candidates can check their results by sending “UTMERESULT” via SMS to 55019 or 66019 using their registered phone numbers.

He added that candidates can only view their results for now, as the board has not enabled result slip printing.

The board said the UTME is still ongoing. It added that it will release more results in batches as marking continues.

Warning AGAINST FALSIFICATION

JAMB warned candidates against falsifying results, especially with artificial intelligence and other digital tools.

It cautioned them not to alter SMS messages from its official platforms to misrepresent scores.

The board described such acts as criminal offences. It said it has already arrested some offenders.

“Two candidates and one parent are currently in custody for engaging in result falsification using AI and other electronic means,” the statement said.

JAMB said it will prosecute anyone found guilty.

It urged candidates to follow official procedures and act with integrity throughout the process.
