Nigerian skit maker and actor, Ganiyu Morufu, a popular Nigerian artist better known as Ijoba Lande has accused police officers. He said the police attached to the area J division of the Lagos State police command, assault him. Taking his mobile phone as well as stealing cash that belonged to his brother.
In a video circulating on social media, the entertainer is seen with apparent injuries, with blood around the eyes. Witnesses is also seen trying to wash his face by pouring water on him. It was also captured on video where he was seen in a center which looked like a police station. Where he appeared to be attempting to file a complaint after the alleged ass@ult.
In the account of what happened, Ijoba Lande asserted that he had only been back in Nigeria six days out of the United Kingdom when the assault took place. He did not say, however, where and how the attack was made.
As he claims, he was beating by police officers physically at the moments of confrontation. He said his iPhone 16 Pro Max was taken, and his unnamed brother supposedly lost 1,200 dollars, which police have taken.
Ijoba Lande, a comedian and star of Yoruba Nollywood films, shared his experience. This has gone on to spark conversation within social media spaces.
