Trump emphasized the urgency of negotiations. He stated, “We have to make a deal, otherwise it’s going to be very traumatic, very traumatic. I don’t want that to happen, but we have to make a deal.”
Additionally, Trump added, “This will be very traumatic for Iran if they don’t make a deal.” He referenced past US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites during a 2025 conflict with Israel.

However Iran’s UN mission warned of strong retaliation. The mission stated, “Iran stands ready for dialogue based on mutual respect and interests—BUT IF PUSHED, IT WILL DEFEND ITSELF AND RESPOND LIKE NEVER BEFORE!”
