Nollywood star Foluke Daramola has spoken out about the recent fraud allegations surrounding Agbala Gabriel.
Two ailing individuals recently accused Gabriel of collecting donations on their behalf but failing to hand over the funds. He’s also been accused of misusing money raised by fans and actors for other sick people in need.
Foluke Daramola got involved because she had previously helped raise money for one of the women. Morenikeji, who is battling a spinal condition. Morenikeji claimed that Gabriel blocked her from accessing the funds meant for her medical treatment.
The actress explained that she initially stepped back after Morenikeji’s family traveled to Ibadan to meet Gabriel. Reports suggest Gabriel has raised over N240 million for various causes. But some beneficiaries claim they never received the promised support.
Daramola admitted feeling frustrated when Morenikeji’s family later returned to her for help. She revealed that she had already arranged a house for them in Lagos and provided medical equipment. To monitor Morenikeji’s health while they continued raising funds for her surgery.
In a livestream, Ronke, one of Morenikeji’s children, shared their experience with Gabriel. She confirmed that Foluke Daramola had organized financial aid, accommodation, and medical supplies for her mother. However, the family eventually traveled to Ibadan to meet Gabriel.
According to Ronke, Gabriel took them to a rural area and promised to build a house for them. When she suggested using their own land, Gabriel reportedly insisted on using his property instead. Ronke added that during their stay in Ibadan, Gabriel allegedly failed to provide the necessary support. Forcing them to return to Lagos and seek Daramola’s help again.
