Samklef Claims he Owns Six Tracks From Wizkid’s 2011 Album ‘Superstar’

Producer Samklef has revealed that he owns six songs from Wizkid’s debut album, Superstar.

In a recent post on X, Samklef shared that the 2011 album recorded in his studio. But he never paid for the recording sessions. He also noted that no formal contract signed at the time. Now, he’s open to renegotiating with Banky W, co-founder of Empire Mates Entertainment (EME), the label behind the album.

“Thank God I never used my masters to take any loans. I’m planning to discuss things with Banky W since there was no contract from the start. I hope the Superstar masters never sold,” Samklef wrote.

He further claimed, “I own six tracks from the masters because Banky didn’t pay for the studio sessions. And I also own the studio where all the songs recorded.”

At this point, it’s unclear whether Samklef has any legal rights to the tracks. Or if his claims are based solely on the unpaid studio time.
