Peter Obi

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election, has urged Muslims to support the vulnerable as they celebrate Eid al-Fitr.

Obi made the call in a post on X on Friday.

The former Anambra governor congratulated Muslim faithful on the completion of Ramadan.

He described the fasting period as a time of faith, sacrifice, discipline, and compassion. He also urged Nigerians to uphold these values beyond the season.

“My dear Muslim brothers and sisters, I rejoice with you on this blessed Eid al-Fitr, marking the successful completion of Ramadan,” he said.

Obi added that Ramadan reflects faith, sacrifice, discipline, and compassion.

The former Anambra governor urged Muslims to sustain the virtues of love, humility, generosity, and unity.

These, he said, are important, especially in the face of the country’s current challenges.

“In these trying times for Nigeria, let us carry forward the spirit of kindness. Let us extend help to the vulnerable and work together for peace, justice, and progress in our nation,” he said.

He also prayed for divine blessings, forgiveness, and national prosperity.

“I pray Almighty Allah accepts your ibadah, forgives our shortcomings, and grants you and our country abundant blessings, security, and prosperity,” he said.

“Eid Mubarak! Eid Sa’id.”
