President Bola Tinubu has assured residents of Plateau state that the recent killings in the state will not be repeated.
Tinubu gave the assurance on Thursday when he met with stakeholders in Jos, the state capital, following the Palm Sunday attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North LGA, where suspected bandits killed about 28 people.
The president, who spoke shortly before departing the state, said he could not offer material compensation but pledged improved security.
“There’s nothing I can give you, whether money in billions, but I can console you and promise that this experience will not repeat itself,” he said.
Tinubu expressed sympathy with the victims and their families, describing the attack as tragic.
He assured stakeholders that his administration would take necessary steps to prevent further violence in the state.
The attack in Angwan Rukuba is one of several incidents of violence recorded in Plateau in recent weeks, raising concerns over security in the region.
