Nigeria Revenue Service Academy Launches Digital Learning Platform for Staff Training

Academy Moves to Technology-Driven Training System

The Nigeria Revenue Service Academy will unveil a new digital Learning Experience Platform on May 20 as part of efforts to modernise staff training and professional development.

The initiative aims to replace periodic classroom sessions with a continuous, technology-driven learning system designed to improve staff performance and operational efficiency.

Director of the Academy, Adeolu Akinyemi, disclosed the development in a statement released on Wednesday.

According to him, the platform marks a major transition from traditional training methods to a modern digital learning environment.

“The platform represents a major shift from traditional, classroom-based training to a modern, technology-driven learning ecosystem designed to support continuous professional development, performance improvement and career growth,” Akinyemi said.

Platform Introduces Interactive Learning Features

Akinyemi explained that the platform would provide training through microlearning modules, scenario-based exercises, interactive simulations and gamified learning experiences.

As a result, staff members will complete training in shorter and more practical sessions at their convenience.

In addition, the system will feature a digital reward structure that includes experience points, virtual coins and digital badges. Leaderboards will also rank performance across departments, directorates, regions and individual staff members.

According to Akinyemi, the initiative will encourage workers to embrace continuous learning rather than occasional training exercises.

“Learning will no longer be seen as a periodic obligation but as a continuous, self-driven process that is practical, engaging and rewarding,” he stated.

Staff to Access Training Anywhere

The Academy said the platform would allow employees to track their progress, manage their learning paths and access training materials from any location.

Furthermore, the system will help management identify qualified staff for promotions, specialised assignments and international opportunities based on competence scores and learning activity.

Akinyemi added that the digital reward economy would motivate workers to remain active and consistent on the platform.

“The introduction of a digital reward economy, including a marketplace for redeemable benefits, will further incentivise participation and learning consistency among staff,” he said.

Academy Begins Rollout Preparations

Ahead of the official launch, the Academy plans to organise sensitisation campaigns, onboarding programmes, pilot sessions and demonstration exercises for staff members.

The Academy believes the platform will improve knowledge sharing, strengthen workforce readiness and enhance service delivery across the organisation.

“The objective is to build a workforce that learns continuously, adapts quickly and applies knowledge effectively,” Akinyemi said.

He also noted that the system would improve transparency and fairness because staff achievements and performance records would remain visible throughout the organisation.
