The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has fixed its presidential nomination form at N60 million ahead of the 2027 general election.
The party also pegged the governorship nomination form at N30 million.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday, aspirants seeking seats in the House of Representatives will pay N6 million, while Senate aspirants are expected to pay N7 million.
The nomination form for state house of assembly aspirants was fixed at N2.5 million.
The party announced that the sale of expression of interest forms will commence on Wednesday, May 13, and end on Monday, May 18, 2026.
The NDC said screening and interview sessions for aspirants would be held between May 19 and May 21, adding that only successful aspirants would proceed to purchase nomination forms.
The party advised aspirants to appear for screening with relevant credentials and supporting documents.
According to the timetable released by the party, the sale of nomination forms will run from May 21 to May 23, while completed forms must be submitted on or before May 25.
The party added that appeals arising from the screening exercise would be entertained on May 25 and 26.
Primary elections for various offices are scheduled for May 27 and 28, while the presidential primary election will hold on May 29 in Abuja.
SCREENING AT STATE LEVEL
The NDC said aspirants for state house of assembly seats would be screened in their respective states, while screening for national assembly and presidential aspirants would take place at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.
It also disclosed that governorship primaries would be conducted at the local government level.
According to the statement, all aspirants would be required to sign undertakings in line with the party’s guidelines and code of conduct.
The party assured members of a transparent and democratic process and said it would adopt the “open secret ballot” system for its primaries.
The NDC also claimed that its nomination fees remain among the lowest among major political parties in the country.
The statement added that female aspirants and persons living with disabilities (PWDs) would enjoy concessions, although details were not immediately provided.
