Police Arrest Six Suspected ‘One Chance’ Robbers in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested six suspected members of a “one chance” robbery syndicate operating around Ago Palace Way in Okota, Lagos.

The command disclosed the arrests in a statement released on Sunday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi.

Suspects arrested during stop-and-search operation

According to the police, operatives intercepted the suspects during a routine stop-and-search exercise along Ago Palace Way.

The suspects reportedly travelled in a tricycle with registration number AAA 720 QL while attempting to rob commuters.

Police said the suspects abandoned the tricycle and tried to escape after spotting security operatives.

Police recover weapons and other items

Officers later recovered a cutlass, a mobile phone and a dummy pistol allegedly used during their operations.

The suspects were identified as Basiru Rilwan, Afeez Akeem, Ademola Yekeen, Sodipo Oyeyemi, Ayomide Gafar and Fabayo Michael.

Police said further investigations led to the arrest of all six suspects.

Command vows to sustain crackdown on crime

The command said the suspects would face prosecution after the investigation concludes.

It also reaffirmed its commitment to proactive policing and crime prevention across the state.

The police urged residents to continue sharing useful and timely information to support efforts against criminal activities in Lagos.
