Northern Christian Leader Urges Politicians to Reject Greed and Manipulation

Hayab Calls for Integrity and Responsible Leadership

The Chairman of the Northern Christian Association, Joseph Hayab, has urged politicians to avoid greed, manipulation, and selfish leadership. He asked public office holders to fear God and serve as good examples to young Nigerians.

Hayab, who also serves as Senior Pastor of Amazing Grace Baptist Church, spoke on Sunday in Kaduna State. He addressed journalists after the dedication of the church auditorium in Gonin Gora.

The event attracted politicians, religious leaders, traditional rulers, and other dignitaries. It also featured calls for peace and unity across religious and ethnic lines.

Cleric Calls for Unity and Religious Harmony

Hayab stressed the need for peaceful coexistence among Nigerians. He said citizens must embrace unity despite political, ethnic, or religious differences.

He also said the church invited people of other faiths to the event. According to him, the move aimed to strengthen mutual understanding.

“Our Muslim friends came and stayed throughout the service,” he said. “This shows the need for peace and understanding in Nigeria.”

He added that religious buildings mean little without peaceful living among citizens.

Youths Influenced by Leaders’ Behaviour

Hayab warned that poor leadership behaviour affects young Nigerians. He said many youths now see manipulation as a success route.

He blamed this trend on the conduct of some political leaders.

“Our young ones see selfishness and greed among leaders,” he said. “They now think manipulation is success.”

He insisted that manipulation does not lead to real success. Instead, he said it leads to shame and disruption.

Politicians Must Lead by Example

The cleric urged leaders to act with honesty and integrity. He said politicians have become role models, whether good or bad.

“If leaders do wrong, the next generation will repeat it,” he warned.

He called on leaders to speak the truth and fear God in all actions.

Hayab also reminded leaders that they will give account of their actions before God. He said judgment applies to both the rich and the poor based on conduct, not status.

Call for Lasting Peace in Nigeria

Hayab restated his commitment to interfaith dialogue and peaceful coexistence. He said Nigeria needs justice, tolerance, and inclusive governance to achieve lasting peace.

He urged leaders at all levels to build unity and leave a legacy of love and sacrifice for future generations.
