Poland snatch late draw against Nigeria in international friendly

Poland scored deep into stoppage time to deny Nigeria victory in a dramatic 2-2 friendly draw in Warsaw.

Nigeria were held to a 2-2 draw by Poland after Przemysław Wiśniewski scored a late equaliser in added time at the PGE Narodowy Stadium on Wednesday.

The Super Eagles took the lead in the 23rd minute through Terem Moffi after a well-worked move. Poland responded before half-time when Kacper Potulski found the net to level the score at 1-1.

Nigeria regained the advantage in the second half after substitute Paul Onuachu converted a penalty to make it 2-1. Eric Chelle’s side looked set for victory, but Wiśniewski struck in stoppage time to earn Poland a share of the spoils.

The match served as another important test for Nigeria as they continue preparations for future international competitions. The Super Eagles will next face Portugal in another friendly on June 10.

Nigeria showed promise throughout the contest, but a late defensive lapse denied the Super Eagles a morale-boosting win over the European side.
