Trump urges Israel and Iran to stop attacks

Fresh strikes and missile exchanges have raised fears of a wider conflict despite ongoing peace efforts.

US President Donald Trump has called on Israel and Iran to immediately halt military attacks as both countries exchanged fresh strikes amid fragile ceasefire negotiations.

Trump said Israel and Iran were seeking an “immediate ceasefire” and urged both sides to avoid actions that could derail ongoing peace talks. His comments came after Israel launched strikes on military targets inside Iran, while Tehran responded with missile attacks targeting Israel.

Iran’s military later announced it was suspending operations but warned that any further attacks, including actions linked to southern Lebanon, would trigger a stronger response.

The latest escalation follows weeks of tension after Israeli strikes in Lebanon and continued clashes involving Iran-backed groups across the region. Despite ceasefire efforts, both sides have continued military operations, keeping the Middle East on edge.

Diplomatic efforts remain underway, but the situation remains highly volatile as regional and international leaders push for a lasting ceasefire.
