Iran and Israel have halted attacks for now, but tensions remain high as both sides threaten fresh retaliation if the ceasefire breaks down again.
Iran and Israel announced a pause in military operations after exchanging missile and air strikes for the first time since the April ceasefire. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel was holding fire “at the moment” but stressed that the conflict with Iran and the Iran-backed Hezbollah movement was not over. Iran’s military also confirmed it had suspended operations after delivering what it described as a “painful response” and warned of stronger action if Israel launches new attacks.
The latest escalation began after Iran fired missiles at Israel in response to Israeli strikes on Hezbollah targets in Beirut. Israel later carried out air strikes on military sites inside Iran, while both countries exchanged threats before international pressure pushed for de-escalation.
Although attacks have paused, both Tehran and Tel Aviv have made it clear that any new ceasefire violation could trigger another round of military action.
