Federal prosecutors say the suspects planned to use drones and snipers to target attendees at a UFC event held on the White House grounds.
A US federal grand jury has indicted eight men accused of plotting a deadly attack on a UFC event held on the South Lawn of the White House on June 14, 2026.
According to the US Department of Justice, the suspects allegedly planned to use drones to create a diversion before deploying snipers to shoot people fleeing the event. Prosecutors claim the intended targets included President Donald Trump, JD Vance, Elon Musk, and the Israeli PM.
The latest indictment names Chandler D. Scaggs, 21, of West Virginia, as the eighth suspect. Investigators allege Scaggs was assigned to serve as one of the snipers and continued making plans to travel to Washington after losing contact with fellow suspect Tycen Proper, who had already been arrested.
All eight defendants now face two federal charges: conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists and conspiracy to commit murder on federal government property and against a federal government official. If convicted, each could face life imprisonment.
The other defendants are Abraham Alvarez, Daniel K. Eskridge, William L.S. Falkner, Jordan W. Rincker, Bryan O. Roa, Michael Thomas, and Tycen Proper.
The Case
Attorneys representing Scaggs and Proper said their clients intend to challenge the allegations. Proper’s lawyer confirmed that his client will plead not guilty. Scaggs’ attorney on the other hand, said he is still reviewing the evidence before commenting further.
Prosecutors also allege the group operated under a structured tier system. One with top-level members willing to break the law and potentially go into hiding to carry out the attack.
Authorities say the investigation began after Proper’s mother contacted police over concerns about her son’s growing collection of firearms and disturbing online conversations. A tip that ultimately helped disrupt the alleged plot.
The case is expected to proceed in federal court. Prosecutors seek to prove one of the most serious alleged domestic terror plots targeting a US presidential event in years.
