Peter Obi's 65th birthday: Ameh describes former governor as symbol of hope

Former National Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Peter Ojonugwa Ameh, has congratulated the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate and former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, on his 65th birthday.

Ameh described Obi as an incorruptible leader and a symbol of hope. He also praised the former governor’s integrity, fiscal discipline and commitment to ethical leadership.

Ameh commends Obi’s leadership qualities

In a goodwill message released on Saturday, Ameh said Obi has consistently demonstrated transparency, accountability and responsible leadership throughout his public service.

According to him, Obi’s prudent management of public resources has continued to inspire many Nigerians, especially young people. Moreover, he said the former presidential candidate has shown that the country can achieve meaningful progress through honest and accountable governance.

He added that Obi has consistently promoted financial discipline. He also opposed wasteful spending and encouraged responsible management of public resources as a way to reduce poverty and inequality.

‘Character still matters,’ Ameh tells Obi

Ameh said Obi’s leadership style has strengthened public confidence in the importance of integrity, competence and good character in national development.

He said:

“As you mark this milestone, we draw fresh hope from the example you represent. You embody the belief that character still matters, that competence and integrity can transform our society, and that one person’s dedication can inspire the dreams of an entire generation.”

The former IPAC chairman prayed for God’s guidance, good health and strength for Obi. He also expressed hope that the former Anambra governor would continue to contribute to Nigeria’s democratic development and national progress.

Furthermore, Ameh joined Obi’s family, friends and supporters in celebrating the former governor’s birthday.

He described Obi as:
