In his speech, the new PDP chairman assured members that the fresh leadership would remain accountable. He emphasized that the trust placed in him and the newly elected executives would not be taken for granted.

“There will be no more impunity and suppression of the will of the Nigerian people,” Turaki said. “What you want is what we shall give you. We will listen, and we will deliver.”

He also promised to promote fairness, equity, and justice in the party. Turaki described the PDP as being at a crossroads but maintained confidence in the new executives to manage the challenges.

He added that as part of his first steps, the leadership would reach out to aggrieved members with genuine concerns and encourage them to return to the party. Turaki said this move was essential to “save Nigeria’s democracy from imminent collapse.”
