APC Chieftain Says Calls for Wike’s Removal is Unnecessary

APC Senior Member Comments on FCT Minister Wike Removal

Hon Stephen Abraham Ajiya, a senior member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has called for restraint regarding calls to remove the FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike, following a reported clash with a military officer in Abuja.

He noted that the dispute can be resolved without asking the Defence Ministry to dismiss the minister. Proper dialogue, he added, could prevent escalation and maintain stability within the cabinet.

APC Official Highlights Wike’s Achievements

According to Hon Ajiya, Wike has delivered notable transformations in Nigeria’s capital over recent years. His commitment and hands-on approach have improved infrastructure, urban planning, and public services across Abuja.

The APC leader emphasized that any dedicated public official could take firm actions to ensure compliance with regulations, even when facing entrenched opposition. Such proactive measures are vital for effective governance.

APC Calls for Fair Handling of Land and Property Issues

Hon Ajiya also urged that cases of illegal government land occupation receive serious attention. Authorities must enforce rules consistently to prevent disputes and curb corruption.

He added that consistent handling of such cases will discourage individuals from exploiting loopholes or acting unlawfully, ensuring fairness and transparency across all sectors.

APC Appeals to Presidency for Mediation

The APC chieftain asked the Presidency and party leadership to mediate tensions between the FCT Minister and the Defence Ministry. By resolving issues through official channels, he said, the cabinet can remain united.

Failure to address conflicts properly, he warned, could divide ministers and affect party cohesion. Officials should avoid public confrontations and handle disagreements internally to maintain accountability and governance effectiveness.

He concluded that the APC supports ministers who show dedication, competence, and a commitment to public service.
