The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says it will begin legal steps to recover mandates from Rivers lawmakers involved in a fresh PDP defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The announcement was issued on Saturday in Abuja.
National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, called the latest switch a “re-defection.” He accused the lawmakers of acting on instructions from a “paymaster and demigod.” He recalled that the legislators once defected and later reversed their decision.
According to him, their conduct proved they were political puppets blocking democratic progress. He added that history would remember them as “enemies of democracy.”
PDP Vows to Recover Mandates After Defection
The PDP said the move was “a defection from APC to APC.” It insisted the lawmakers abandoned the platform that brought them into office. Ememobong explained that the party would activate constitutional measures to reclaim every mandate.
He urged PDP members in Rivers State to remain steadfast. The rebuilding of the party, he said, would focus on fairness, equity, and inclusiveness.
