The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has adjusted its 2026 primary election timetable and reduced the cost of its presidential nomination form from ₦100 million to ₦90 million.

In a statement on Tuesday, Bolaji Abdullahi, national publicity secretary of the party, said the changes followed consultations with party leaders, aspirants and stakeholders.

The party also reduced the cost of its governorship nomination form from ₦50 million to ₦30 million.

According to the updated timetable, the sale and submission of nomination forms will run from May 6 to May 13, 2026.

The party fixed May 13 as the deadline for submission of completed forms.

ADC said screening of aspirants will hold between May 14 and May 15, while screening results will be published on May 17.

Appeals arising from the screening exercise will be heard from May 18 to May 19.

The final list of cleared aspirants will be released on May 20.

The party said primaries for state houses of assembly, house of representatives and senate seats will hold on May 21.

Governorship primaries are scheduled for May 22, while the presidential primary will take place on May 23.

ADC also fixed its national executive committee (NEC) meeting for May 25 and the special national convention for May 26.

The party pegged senate nomination forms at ₦10 million, house of representatives forms at ₦5 million, and state assembly forms at ₦2 million.

ADC said it retained its concessionary policy for special groups.

The party said youth aspirants between 18 and 35 years will enjoy a 50 percent discount, while women and persons living with disabilities will get a 25 percent discount.

“These adjustments reflect the outcome of broad-based consultations aimed at strengthening internal democracy and improving access,” the statement reads.
