Osun State Governor and Accord Party candidate, Ademola Adeleke, has won the first polling unit result in the ongoing governorship election. Accord Party scored 57 votes at Polling Unit 026, Ward 5, in Osogbo Local Government Area. The All Progressives Congress, APC, followed with 43 votes.
INEC officials counted the ballots after voting ended at the polling unit. They then announced the result to voters and party agents present.
Accord Party takes another Osogbo polling unit
Another result has emerged from Polling Unit 39, Ward 4, also in Osogbo Local Government Area. According to the Presiding Officer, Oyeranmi Deborah, Accord Party secured 65 votes at the polling unit. APC came second with 43 votes. The other parties recorded fewer votes. AA got one vote, while AAC also scored one. ADC received two votes, and ZLP got one vote. Results from more polling units are now coming in as INEC officials continue the counting and collation process across the state.
Election continues across Osun
The election has continued in several parts of Osun despite reports of intimidation, vote buying and other incidents. Security personnel remain deployed across the state to maintain order as voters and electoral officials complete the process. The early results do not determine the overall winner. INEC must collate results from the various polling units and local government areas before announcing the final outcome.
More results are expected as the collation process continues.
