AFCON 2027 dates confirmed as East Africa prepares to host

CAF sets June–July schedule for first-ever three-country AFCON.

The Africa Cup of Nations 2027 will take place from June 19 to July 17, marking a major milestone as East Africa prepares to host the competition across three countries. Confederation of African Football confirmed the dates after approval by the FIFA Council.

The tournament will be jointly hosted by Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania, although venues for the opening match and final have not yet been announced. CAF president Patrice Motsepe said preparations are on track, dismissing earlier concerns about delays.

This will be the first AFCON edition hosted by three nations and the first time the tournament returns to East Africa since 1976.

With planning underway and confidence growing, the region is set to deliver one of the most unique AFCON tournaments in history.
