Senator Ned Nwoko has appealed to bloggers and social media users to give his estranged wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, space to recover.
He made the appeal amid their ongoing marital crisis. The senator also expressed concern over false reports about the actress’s health and personal life.
Nwoko shared the statement on his social media page on Monday. He urged Regina’s fans, friends and online commentators to show compassion.
Nwoko Appeals for Public Support
The senator said Regina needed support rather than public criticism. He also stressed that their children deserved to see their mother supported.
“I want to make a sincere appeal to the public, particularly Regina’s fans, friends, bloggers and social media commentators, to please give Regina some breathing space,” he said.
He added that the appeal was also for the sake of their children.
According to Nwoko, the children are well cared for. He said they deserved every opportunity to see their mother recover.
The lawmaker acknowledged that Regina had faced difficulties. He said the public might not fully understand what she had experienced.
“Regardless of the difficulties we have faced, her well-being has always mattered to me,” he stated.
Nwoko added that concerns about her welfare contributed to their private matters becoming public.
Senator Condemns False Death Reports
Nwoko expressed particular concern about fabricated reports concerning Regina’s death.
He also criticised misleading publications about her health and personal circumstances.
The senator warned that such content could cause emotional distress. He said the actress was affected by the reports circulating online.
“I am particularly concerned about the circulation of false and disturbing reports about her, including fabricated death announcements, misleading stories and other hurtful content,” he said.
He stressed that such publications were not harmless social media engagement.
Nwoko Threatens Legal Action Against Bloggers
The senator warned individuals deliberately spreading false information about Regina. He said he would not tolerate fabricated reports about her death, health or private life.
“Let me make this very clear: I will not tolerate the deliberate spread of false information about Regina, particularly fabricated reports about her death, health or personal circumstances,” he stated.
Nwoko also disclosed that the publications were being documented.
He warned that anyone found responsible could face legal action through the appropriate channels.
The senator urged bloggers and social media users to stop exploiting the actress’s situation for online engagement.
He maintained that Regina deserved privacy and an opportunity to recover without further public scrutiny.
