“Be Patient With Tinubu… The Devil You Know Is Better” – Hanks Anuku Appeals to Nigerians

Veteran Nollywood actor Hanks Anuku has urged Nigerians to give President Bola Tinubu more time. He said Tinubu did not create Nigeria’s current problems. According to Anuku, the president inherited several challenges from past administrations.

The actor made the remarks during an interview on The Honest Bunch podcast. He also shared the interview on Monday through the podcast’s Instagram page. Anuku said Nigerians were rushing the president instead of giving him enough time to work.

Hanks Anuku also expressed strong support for Tinubu’s administration. He insisted that nobody pays him to praise the president.

“Nigeria has to be patient for the renewed hope of this man,” Anuku said.

He added that Tinubu “has to fix it now” because previous leaders left several problems behind. Anuku also believes Nigerians should allow Tinubu to complete his two terms. He argued that the next president could perform worse.

“The devil you know is better,” he said.

Meanwhile, Anuku opened up about painful experiences in his personal life. He spoke about losing the mother of his two children and the depression that followed. The actor said her death affected him deeply and pushed him into isolation. He also accused some former friends of betraying him.

“Some want you dead. Some even want you to go mad,” he said.

Despite these experiences, Anuku said he remains grateful to God for keeping him alive.

Earlier, Anuku shared his story during a testimony at Mountain of God International Ministry in Abuja. He explained how his wife’s death affected his career and emotional wellbeing. His religious journey later helped him regain peace and purpose.

Anuku also addressed viral videos that allegedly showed him battling mental health issues. He rejected the claims and said the videos damaged his reputation. The controversy also affected his career and caused him serious emotional distress.
