Several people are feared dead after a helicopter crashed in Igbokoda, headquarters of Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The crash occurred on Monday, October 5, 2026, throwing the coastal community into panic as residents reportedly fled the area. The number of people aboard the helicopter was not immediately known, while the condition of any possible survivors remained unclear.
Sources in Igbokoda said efforts were underway to reach the crash site and establish the extent of the casualties and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
“Yes, it’s true. A helicopter just crashed now at Igbokoda, Ondo State,” a resident told SaharaReporters.
The Ondo State Police Command said it was not immediately aware of the crash.Police spokesperson Abayomi Jimoh told SaharaReporters that he would make inquiries into the reported incident.
