BBNaija star Bella Okagbue has finally spoken about her breakup with Sheggz. Her statement comes amid fresh controversy surrounding their relationship.
Bella explained that she stayed quiet because some parts of their relationship deserved privacy. However, she warned that her silence should never be seen as guilt.
According to Bella, she genuinely loved Sheggz and defended their relationship at the time. She also gave him another chance because she believed people could change. However, she realised that believing in change did not mean waiting forever.
“The person everyone experiences publicly isn’t always the person you experience privately,” she said.
The reality star also addressed talks about marriage and the ring Sheggz reportedly bought for her. Bella said wanting to marry someone she loved was not desperation. Instead, she said knowing when not to marry someone showed discernment.
“A ring doesn’t fix what made a relationship impossible,” she wrote.
She also disputed some stories circulating online, saying they did not match her experience.
Meanwhile, Bella hinted that she has more to say when she is ready. She said some personal experiences remain private because they are hers to share. She summed up her feelings with a striking statement:
“A hundred promises. Not one fulfilled.”
According to her, she eventually stopped listening to promises and started watching patterns.
In the end, Bella said she gave the relationship love, loyalty and another chance. However, she reached a point where trust, respect and peace could no longer exist alongside loyalty. She said she does not regret trying again. Still, she has chosen to walk away and put herself first.
“So today, I choose myself. I choose differently, regardless of what comes with it,” Bella concluded.
