Nigerian social media influencer Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has expressed deep grief over the death of her nine-year-old son, Bryan.
The relationship therapist shared an emotional tribute on Instagram on Sunday, saying she might never recover from the shock of losing him.
In the post, she recalled promises to buy Bryan an iPad and a bicycle. She said she eventually bought both gifts but could no longer give them to him.
“I will keep living in denial, I miss you, bought the iPad I promised you, and also the bicycle,” she wrote.
Blessing CEO remembers son’s kindness
The influencer also imagined how her son would have waited for her return home.
“You would have waited for mummy to come back …” she wrote.
She described Bryan as a selfless, kind, outspoken, bold and intelligent child.
“This is how I will forever remember you.
“Selfless, kind, outspoken, bold and very intelligent,” she added.
Blessing CEO said she believed her son was in heaven and promised to carry his memories wherever she went.
“I know you are in Heaven, but I promise to carry your memories everywhere I go,” she wrote.
She further described the pain of his absence, calling him her guardian angel.
“I miss you my baby, I will never recover from this shock.
“Rest on my guardian angel. Bryan.
“Sleep well my Dum Dum, mummy loves and miss you.
“Everywhere is so cold and quiet,” she wrote.
Influencer speaks about son’s final days
The tribute comes days after Blessing CEO discussed her son’s death in an emotional interview following her release from custody.
During the interview, she said Bryan had reportedly dreamt about his death and told his brother, Darell, her sister, Precious, and her father.
She said she only learnt about the dream after his death.
“When my son was alive, he dreamt that he died. He told his brother Darell and my sister Precious, who prayed for him. He also told my Dad, but he never told me,” she said.
Blessing CEO also said she learnt while in custody that Bryan had been using two inhalers.
According to her account, she received information that he died at a hospital at about 6:30am on a Monday.
She said the news overshadowed what should have been a joyful return home after her release.
“I didn’t come out to the best of news. I didn’t come out excited because I lost something I couldn’t get back,” she said.
She also spoke about the guilt she had struggled with since the loss. However, she said she was trying to find the strength to move forward and make her son proud.
“I came out knowing that wherever my son is, he wants to be proud of his mother,” she added.
Blessing CEO secured bail in late October after spending months in custody over separate alleged fraud cases. The cases remain ongoing, and her release on bail does not amount to an acquittal.
