Burna Boy, Shakira, BTS, Madonna and Justin Bieber thrilled fans during FIFA’s first-ever World Cup Final halftime show at MetLife Stadium.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup final delivered more than football. Fans also witnessed FIFA’s first-ever Super Bowl-style halftime show. The performance happened during the final between defending champions Argentina and Spain at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. It marked a major change for the tournament.
World’s Biggest Music Stars Owned the Stage
For about 11 minutes, football paused as some of the world’s biggest music stars took over the stage. The show was curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin in partnership with Global Citizen. Live Nation and Done + Dusted produced the event, while Hamish Hamilton directed the spectacular production.
The halftime show featured an impressive lineup. Madonna, Shakira, BTS and Justin Bieber led the performance. Nigerian Grammy winner Burna Boy also thrilled fans with his appearance. They were joined by conductor Gustavo Dudamel, musicians from the New York Philharmonic and Venezuela’s Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra.
The PS22 Chorus, Uganda’s Ghetto Kids, Emmanuel Kelly, Sesame Street characters and The Muppets also added colour to the show. Even better, all the performers volunteered their time to support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. The initiative hopes to raise $100 million to improve education and football opportunities for children worldwide.
One of the biggest highlights came when Shakira and Burna Boy reunited on stage. The pair performed “Dai Dai,” the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Fans also enjoyed BTS as they performed their global smash hit “Dynamite.”
Meanwhile, Justin Bieber slowed things down with an emotional solo performance. Madonna then raised the energy with one of the night’s most memorable sets. Throughout the show, orchestral music, dance performances and colourful visuals kept fans entertained. Family-friendly appearances also reinforced the message of unity, hope and inclusion.
Unlike a traditional concert, the performance moved at a very fast pace. Every act flowed smoothly into the next. The production team used quick stage changes and stunning visual effects to keep viewers glued to their screens. At the same time, a specially protected stage ensured the football pitch remained untouched. With this bold move, FIFA opened a new chapter by blending world-class football with global entertainment.
