Caramel Plug accuses Anita Joseph of replacing her face with AI in birthday photos. The actress responds, sparking heated reactions across social media.
Caramel Plug has called out Nollywood actress Anita Joseph over an edited birthday photo that has left social media buzzing. The content creator, whose real name is Ogechi Ukonu, claimed Anita removed her face from a birthday picture and replaced it with hers using AI. The drama started weeks after Caramel shared stunning birthday photos to celebrate her special day. Alongside the pictures, she wrote:
“Happy Birthday Ogechi Ukonu 🎉🎊🥂 And just as Esther’s life was in Alignment with Gods purpose, so will Mine continue to be…God is good! & I will definitely be shaking my nyash todayyy for sure! 😁🥂.”
However, the photos resurfaced on Anita Joseph’s page with a surprising twist. Caramel’s face had allegedly been replaced with Anita’s face. Anita shared the edited image with the caption,
“A woman cannot submit and be in survival mode at the same time.”
She also replied to comments in a way that made some followers believe the photos originally belonged to her. As the post spread online, many users questioned whether it was a harmless AI edit or a case of taking someone else’s content.
Reports later claimed Anita explained that her AI editor made the mistake. Still, Caramel insisted the image was stolen, keeping the conversation alive.
Meanwhile, social media users remain divided over the issue. Some defended the use of AI for content creation, while others argued that credit should always be given to the original owner. The controversy has once again raised questions about AI-generated edits, content ownership, and respect for creators in Nigeria’s entertainment space.
