American actress Carla Jeffery, known for Disney Channel’s Zombies films, has died at 33.
Jeffery played Bree, a cheerful cheerleader, in the 2018 movie and its two sequels. She also appeared in Curb Your Enthusiasm as part of the Black family. Her agent, Carla Alexander, described her as a “beautiful, vibrant and incredibly talented woman.”
She also praised Jeffery’s radiant smile, which could “light up any room.” Her management company, Alexanders Talent Management, also shared an emotional tribute. The company said Jeffery had been part of its family for more than 20 years.
“Our hearts are broken as we mourn the loss of our beloved Carla Jeffery,” the company wrote.
The statement praised her infectious smile, laughter and talent. It also described her as someone who carried “beautiful light” wherever she went.
Meanwhile, Jeffery’s twin brother, Carlon, shared a touching tribute online. He posted a beach video of his sister and an old message he had sent her.
“I love you to the moon & back sis,” he wrote.
He also called her “the best sister a brother could ask for.” Jeffery’s Zombies co-stars have also shared their grief. Chandler Kinney, who played Willa, said the actress’s death “doesn’t feel real.”
“Carla. The sweetest, most sparkly gal. You made every day better and brighter with your infectious positivity,” Kinney wrote.
She added that Jeffery’s real personality helped make Bree so lively. Kinney remembered her as a “bubbly, vivacious heart-of-gold cheerleader.”
Milo Manheim, who played Zed, also posted photos with Jeffery.
“Love you Carlaboo, the sweetest, kindest, most loving person,” he wrote.
No cause of death has been announced. Her family has asked fans to respect their privacy during this difficult period.
