Security forces say terrorists may target civilians during the Eid El Kabir period in Nigeria’s North East.
Operation HADIN KAI has warned residents in Nigeria’s North East to remain alert over possible terrorist attacks during the upcoming Eid El Kabir celebrations.
The Joint Task Force said intelligence reports suggest terrorists may attempt to attack civilians during the festive period. In response, troops and surveillance teams have been deployed to critical and vulnerable locations ahead of the celebrations.
The military said Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) assets have been fully activated to strengthen security operations across the region.
The command also urged traditional rulers, religious leaders, media organisations and community stakeholders to encourage residents to report suspicious activities and credible security information promptly.
Operation HADIN KAI assured residents that troops remain on standby and are committed to ensuring a peaceful celebration.
