European Wax Center Agrees to $5 Million Settlement Over Data Tracking Claims

Company Reaches Settlement in Data Privacy Case

European Wax Center has agreed to a multimillion-dollar settlement. The deal resolves a class-action lawsuit over data tracking practices.

The lawsuit claims the company collected customer data without consent. Plaintiffs said the company used tracking tools on its website.

Allegations Focus on Tracking Technologies

The complaint states that the company used pixels, cookies, and analytics tools. These tools allegedly gathered user information during website visits.

The data may have been shared with third parties. Customers did not give clear permission, according to the lawsuit.

European Wax Center denies any wrongdoing. The company said it agreed to settle to avoid legal costs and business disruption.

Who Qualifies for the Settlement

Customers may qualify if they visited the company’s website. This includes users who booked appointments online.

The eligibility period runs from June 30, 2023, to April 2, 2026. Affected users can now submit claims for compensation.

How to File a Claim

Eligible customers must submit a claim form by June 30, 2026. They can file online or send forms by mail.

Each valid claim may receive up to $10. Final payments may change based on the number of claims submitted.

Next Steps in the Process

A court hearing will take place on July 15. The court will decide whether to approve the settlement.

Customers also have options to opt out or object before the deadline. Payments will begin after final approval.
