A woman who has long claimed she had an affair with celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. Has criticized his new Netflix documentary, calling it “fake and misleading.”
The six-part series, Being Gordon Ramsay, follows the 59-year-old chef over nine months. As he launches a major new restaurant at 22 Bishopsgate in London. The show also highlights his family life with his wife, Tana, and their six children. Showcasing a softer, more reflective side of the famously fiery chef known for Hell’s Kitchen and MasterChef USA.
However, Sarah Symonds, who alleges she had a seven-year affair with Ramsay from 2001 to 2008. Has publicly challenged the documentary’s portrayal of him.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Symonds called the series “totally fake,”. Claiming it presents a polished version of Gordon Ramsay that doesn’t match her experience. She disputed the image of him as a devoted family man. Saying he acted like someone without family responsibilities during the time she says they were involved.
Symonds Goes Public
Symonds first made her allegations public in 2008, which Ramsay has consistently denied. At the time, he strongly refuted her claims, stating he had only met her a few times.
After the controversy nearly 20 years ago, Gordon Ramsay and Tana renewed their wedding vows. Married since 1996, the couple has since grown their family and often appears united in interviews and public events.
Recently, Symonds said the renewed attention on Ramsay’s personal life has been difficult for her. She mentioned that media coverage of the documentary has brought back painful memories and hinted at considering legal action.
Ramsay’s representatives have previously denied the affair allegations, and as of now, no new legal proceedings have been confirmed.
The documentary is still streaming on Netflix, offering viewers a glimpse into Ramsay’s business ventures and family life. However, as this renewed dispute shows, opinions about his past remain deeply divided.
