Gunmen Attack Adeleke’s Convoy, Davido Reportedly Targeted

Davido has sparked fresh online reactions after gunmen reportedly attacked Governor Ademola Adeleke’s convoy in Osogbo, Osun State. The incident happened shortly after Adeleke received his certificate of return from INEC.

Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, was in Osogbo with his sister, Folashade Adeleke. His cousins, Nikos and B-Red, were also present. The family had gathered to celebrate the governor’s re-election. However, the celebration reportedly took a dangerous turn at the palace of the Ataoja of Osogbo.

According to reports, unknown gunmen opened fire during the governor’s visit to the palace. Security operatives attached to the governor reportedly responded to the attack. Davido and some of the governor’s children were believed to be inside the convoy when the shooting happened. The incident quickly became a major talking point online, with many questioning how the attackers escaped.

Meanwhile, the Osun State Police Command has confirmed the incident. Police spokesperson Abiodun Ojelabi said preliminary findings linked the attack to members of the Eye confraternity. He also stated that the group was allegedly after Davido. Sadly, a 60-year-old man, Tajudeen Yusuf, was shot dead during the gun battle. The police have since launched a full-scale investigation.

Efforts are also underway to arrest the fleeing suspects and bring them to justice.
