Ayra Starr’s sister, Salt, has shared her honest thoughts about dating a man who earns less money than her. She made the comment while speaking on the Wahala Podcast. The singer’s sister was asked if she could date a man she is richer than. Salt’s response was straightforward and sparked reactions online.
“I will control him o,” Salt said when asked about dating a less wealthy man. When the host asked if she truly meant it, she did not back down.
“Yes I will and I know myself. I am very self aware, i will control you,” she said.
Salt explained that her financial advantage would make her feel more in control.
According to her, she would control the relationship because she would have more money.
“Yes I will control him because I am richer and I am saying the truth,” she added.
Her comments have since drawn attention to the different expectations people have about money and relationships. For Salt, however, having more money would not remove her expectations from her partner.
She also shared her opinion on women dating men who are less wealthy. Salt said everyone has their personal preference when it comes to relationships.
“Honestly, everybody have their preference to be honest. Even though I am richer, he will still be providing,” she explained.
Interestingly, Salt said she would keep her wealth away from her partner.
“He wouldn’t even know I have a lot of money because I will not make him know that.”
