Nentawe Yilwatda, national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has commended Nyesom Wike, minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), for his infrastructural projects in Abuja.
Yilwatda spoke during the commissioning of a project in the FCT.
‘I don’t know when you sleep’
The APC chairman described Wike as hardworking and dedicated.
He praised the minister’s work ethic and commitment to project delivery.
“The workaholic, the tireless, ever-working minister,” he said.
“I don’t know when you sleep, Mr. Minister.”
‘I’m jealous you’re in PDP’
Furthermore, Yilwatda joked about Wike’s membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He said he wished the former Rivers governor belonged to the APC.
“You know, Your Excellency, I’m jealous that you’re in PDP,” he said.
“I wish I could corner you and bring you back to APC.”
‘PDP borrowed you to us’
Meanwhile, Yilwatda said he was pleased that Wike joined the Tinubu administration despite remaining a PDP member.
According to him, the minister has delivered impressive results since his appointment.
“I’m happy that PDP borrowed you to us in 2023,” he said.
“I didn’t know that it would lead to such a remarkable feat by you.”
Commends Wike’s achievements
In addition, the APC chairman said Wike’s performance has demonstrated that competent leadership transcends party lines.
He noted that the minister’s achievements have earned him admiration within the ruling party.
“You have demonstrated to APC that what APC can do, some PDP members can also do,” Yilwatda said.
