Fresh Israeli airstrikes hit southern Lebanon after residents were ordered to flee areas near the border.
Israel carried out new airstrikes on southern Lebanon on Thursday, targeting what the Israeli military described as Hezbollah infrastructure. The strikes came hours after evacuation orders forced thousands of civilians to leave cities and towns near the conflict zone.
The Israel Defense Forces instructed residents in Tyre and nearby areas to move north of the Zahrani River, warning that it would operate with “extreme force” against Hezbollah over alleged ceasefire violations. Videos shared online showed damaged buildings, fires, and crowds gathering in the streets after the attacks.
Lebanese state media reported strikes in Tyre, Nabatieh and the eastern Bekaa Valley, with several deaths recorded. Hezbollah said its fighters clashed directly with Israeli troops north of the Litani River and accused Israel of repeatedly violating the ceasefire agreement.
The latest escalation follows Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announcing an expansion of military operations after Hezbollah drone attacks on Israeli forces and civilians.
Humanitarian agencies warn that southern Lebanon is nearing a crisis point as displaced families struggle to find shelter.
