Jordan Wike, son of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, presented his American passport at the FCT High Court in Abuja on Wednesday as part of his defence in a civil suit alleging he received $2.1 million in cash from two claimants to facilitate land acquisitions in the capital that never materialised.
Justice Sylvanus Oriji had on Monday ordered Jordan to produce the passport after a dispute arose over his whereabouts on October 25, 2025, one of the key dates mentioned in the case. Jordan has maintained he was outside Nigeria on that date, using his American passport travel records as evidence. The claimants disputed this account.
The case was filed by Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, who allege they paid Jordan $2.1 million in cash to secure 30 hectares of land in the prime Abuja locations of Katampe and Guzape. The parties allegedly met in London and established a relationship before the transaction took place. According to the claimants, the cash was handed over on September 26, 2025, at a Gwarimpa residence in the presence of multiple witnesses.
The claimants further alleged that Jordan told them $2 million of the sum was for his father, the minister, while $100,000 was for himself. After receiving the money, the claimants said Jordan went “incommunicado.” They later discovered the plots in question were owned by a company preparing to develop them. A refund demand made on October 31, 2025, received no response, prompting the lawsuit.
Jordan, represented by Senior Advocate Ogwu Onoja, denied any knowledge of the transaction and maintained his innocence under cross-examination. The claimants’ lawyer, Hamza Dantani, was granted a court order directing Jordan to write his full name and signature five times each on a plain sheet of paper. The case continues.
