Mr Ibu’s First Wife Makes Explosive Claims Against Stella Marris

The family drama surrounding late Nollywood legend Mr Ibu has taken another twist. This follows Stella Marris Okafor’s emotional interview with influencer King Mitchy. She revealed that she and her children are battling serious hardship.

She claimed they now fetch water from a well, have lived without electricity for months, and cannot afford rent or school fees. However, those claims have now sparked fresh accusations from the actor’s alleged first wife.

Mr. Ibu’s Alleged First Wife Speaks

In a viral video, the alleged first wife accused Stella of mismanaging Mr Ibu’s money and properties. She claimed Stella had Mr Ibu’s first son and adopted daughter, Jasmine Okafor, arrested while the actor was receiving treatment because they handled the public donations.

According to her, Stella later sold Mr Ibu’s Enugu property for about ₦18 million without informing the family. She also alleged that Stella sold his Lagos house after claiming it had water damage. “After my husband’s burial, Stella and her group took all the money and went on a spending spree. Now you think karma won’t catch up with you?” she said.

She also questioned why Stella always presents her children as Mr Ibu’s only children. “What about Amara, Verintan, Onyebuchi and the twins in Port Harcourt? Are they not my husband’s children?” she asked. The woman further warned Stella to allow the late actor to rest in peace. “Even if people donate millions to you again, you will still come online in the future to beg,” she added.

Stella Marris Hasn’t Responded to the Allegations Yet

The fresh allegations come only days after movie producer Stanley Ontop also challenged Stella over the late actor’s finances. He questioned the whereabouts of the reported ₦66 million left in Mr Ibu’s account and claimed several of the actor’s properties were sold after his death. So far, Stella Marris has not publicly responded to these latest accusations. As the controversy continues, many fans are waiting to hear her side of the story.

How it All Started…

Recall that the controversy surrounding the late Nollywood actor Mr Ibu’s family began during his prolonged illness in 2023. After the actor publicly appealed for financial support for his medical treatment, Nigerians donated millions of naira to assist him.

However, disagreements soon erupted over the management of the donations. Mr Ibu’s wife, Stella Marris Okafor, accused his adopted daughter, Jasmine Okafor, of trying to take control of the family and the funds. Jasmine denied the allegations, while Mr Ibu’s son, Daniel Okafor, maintained that he was the sole signatory to his father’s account and that the donations were properly managed.

The family crisis later escalated when Jasmine and Daniel were arrested over allegations linked to the handling of the donated funds. Although they were eventually released, the public dispute exposed deep divisions within the family.

Following Mr Ibu’s death in March 2024, fresh controversies emerged over his properties, burial funds and inheritance. Several family members and close associates have since accused Stella of selling some of the actor’s properties and mismanaging money left behind. Stella has repeatedly denied wrongdoing.

The latest drama began after Stella appeared in an emotional interview claiming she and her children were living in hardship. Her appeal has now triggered fresh accusations from Mr Ibu’s alleged first wife and movie producer Stanley Ontop, who both questioned how the late actor’s assets and donations were handled after his death.
