Carter Efe has defeated Speed Darlington in a dramatic celebrity boxing clash in Lagos. The fight took place on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Balmoral Hall, Victoria Island. It was part of the “Chaos in the Ring” Independence Edition. Carter controlled most of the four-round bout and secured the victory after a lively contest.
Speaking after the fight, Carter gave his girlfriend, Jasmine Taylor, plenty of credit. The comedian claimed he did not train for the bout.
“I didn’t even train for the fight. Seeing my girlfriend’s beautiful face gave me all the strength I needed,” he said.
His comment quickly added more humour to an already chaotic night.
Carter also took a playful shot at Speed Darlington’s physique. He joked that his opponent’s stomach “looks like pregnancy.” Despite the joke, Carter admitted that Speed still showed some strength during the fight.
Earlier, Carter had also made headlines with his ring entrance. He carried Jasmine into the arena before the action began. The victory also comes after weeks of online drama between both men. Before the fight, Speed Darlington threatened to slap Jasmine during their press conference.
Carter Efe now has bigger plans after his win. He said he wants to marry Jasmine in Georgia before returning to the ring. He also mentioned American rapper DDG and boxing legend Floyd Mayweather as possible future opponents.
